How do you use a Frenchic Tuff Top Coat ?

In the sophisticated sphere of interior design, the Frenchic Tuff Top Coat embodies a sublime fusion of refinement and durability. Unlike the regular Finishing Coat with its gleaming finish, the Tuff Top Coat offers a flat matte appearance, and is a formidable sealant for various surfaces, be it kitchen refurbishments, furniture transformations, floor revivals, or any other surfaces needing an extra layer of defence.

One of its most noteworthy qualities is the specially crafted heat resistance, guarding against the perils of hot cups and the like—no more coffee ring stains to worry about. This robust product has also passed the rigorous ISO 11998 tests, boasting a class 1 scrub rating, thus ensuring its resilience against your thorough cleaning endeavours.

Like all Frenchic products, Tuff Top Coat emits minimal odour, has no added VOCs, and provides protection after a mere 16-hour curing time at room temperature. This versatile indoor/outdoor sealant exhibits exceptional durability, suitable for painted surfaces, internal wooden floors, and porous vertical surfaces such as concrete, unglazed tiles, and brickwork. With its EN:71-3 certification, it is also safe for children's toys and can be mixed with the Frensheen range for added flair.

To utilise the Tuff Top Coat, simply apply two coats with a Frenchic flat brush, 30 minutes apart, and allow 16 hours for a full cure—a truly marvellous process. This water-based, heavy-duty sealant, with its increased heat resistance and environmentally friendly composition, offers a hard-wearing, protective coating for various applications, including kitchen cupboards, worktops, tables, wood floors, and porous vertical surfaces. Its ISO 11998 Class 1 Wet Scrub rating, EN71-3 compliance, and no added VOCs make it an ideal choice for children's toys.

Seal the Frenchic Original Artisan Range with the Tuff Top Coat for a matte alternative to wax or mix it with our metallic Frensheens to bring pizzazz to your projects. This versatile product is suitable for both interior and exterior use.

Project Ideas:

Project 1 – Safeguard & Seal

To protect your furniture painted with the Original Artisan Range, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure your painted item is completely dry.
  2. Shake the bottle of Finishing Coat and pour some into your mixing tray.
  3. Dip a clean, dry sponge into the product, wiping off any excess on the tray's side. Apply a layer directly onto the painted surface using an even, smoothing, brushing motion, as demonstrated in the video. Don't forget the edges!
  4. Wait 30 minutes for the first coat to dry, then apply a second coat.

Project 2 – Craft Your Own Metallic Glaze for Extra Panache

Create a metallic paint by mixing the Finishing Coat with one of our Frensheen mineral powders:

  1. Pour some of the powder into a mixing tray, choosing from five colours: Beautiful Bronze, Cool Copper, Gorgeous Gold, Goddess Green, or Sexy Silver.
  2. Add a small amount of the Tuff Top Coat, stirring well until no powder remains. Aim for a liquid, paint-like consistency.
  3. Use a brush to paint the mixture onto your chosen item for a shimmering finish. No further sealant is required.

Project 3 – Decoupage

Add a unique touch to your project with decoupage, using our versatile Finishing Coat:

  1. Position the paper image on your chosen surface, ensuring a proper fit. If using a decorated napkin, remove excess layers of paper, leaving only the printed layer.
  2. Pour some of the Finishing Coat into a paint tray, using a stiff sponge to apply it. Press firmly into the paper with a generous amount of product so that it fully absorbs and adheres to the painted surface beneath. Dab off any excess with the dry side of the sponge. If your image is on thicker paper, consider applying a layer of Finishing Coat to the furniture surface first.
  3. After applying the first coat, allow it to dry before applying a second coat for added protection. The Finishing Coat will initially appear milky white but dries fully transparent.

The Frenchic Tuff Top Coat is available in a 500ml bottle, providing you with ample product for all your creative endeavours. With its resolute elegance, this unique sealant is perfect for breathing new life into your interior design projects and preserving their beauty for years to come.
